MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A woman was injured after colliding with and killing a horse Monday in the 6500 block of Chapel Road, according to the Madison Township Police Department.
Firefighters and police were called at 6:02 p.m. after a car, traveling westbound on Chapel Road, was struck by a horse running in the eastbound in the westbound lane, according to the police report.
After impact, the driver of the vehicle, Linda S. Widger, 59, of Madison, drove her black, mid-size Chrysler 300 off of the right side of the road and got stuck in a resident’s yard, according to police.
Widger was transported by ambulance to Lake Health in Madison for possible injuries, according to the police report.
Her passengers, Izak Darby, 3, Oliver Darby, 7, both of Madison, were not injured in the crash, reports show.
A lane of traffic was blocked for a short time as police investigated the accident. Police cleared the scene at 7:31 p.m., the report said.
The owner of the horse is Brenda Ketring, 57, of Chapel Road in Madison.
