Multiple injuries in Ind. ambulance crash

Officials said the ambulance crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer during an emergency transport

BLACKFORD COUNTY, Ind. — Multiple people were seriously injured after an ambulance providing emergency transport crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer Monday morning.

Blackford County Sheriff Jeff Sones said the IU Health Lifeline ambulance was attempting to pass the tractor-trailer near an intersection when it collided with the other vehicle, according to RTV6.

Officials did not say exactly how many people were inside the rig when the incident occurred, but Sones said multiple people sustained serious injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation.
