MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich. — An ambulance carrying one patient was struck and overturned by a semitruck in a crash over the weekend.

The semitruck, which was hauling logs, was unable to stop as it approached an intersection and hit the North Flight EMS rig before colliding with a power pole, according to WPBN.

The ambulance was performing a non-emergency transport at the time of the crash, and the patient inside was transferred to another ambulance.

A medic inside the rig was transported to the hospital for evaluation following the incident.

The driver of the log truck was not injured, Manistee County officials said.

Officials said they did not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
