Md. ambulance catches fire after crashing into pole

There were no patients on board and no EMS providers were injured in the crash

CHEVY CHASE, Md. — Icy roads caused an ambulance in Maryland to crash into a utility pole and catch on fire Tuesday morning.

Fox5dc.com reported the crash, involving a Lifestar Ambulance Service ambulance, happened around 5 a.m.

There were no patients on board at the time and an EMT and paramedic inside the ambulance were able to escape before it caught on fire.
