FORT WAYNE, Ind. — An Ind. man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for shooting at an ambulance and car and injuring four people last September.
Traneilous L. Jackson, 24, pleaded guilty last month to four counts of attempted murder, according to the News-Sentinel.
Jackson had opened fire on the ambulance and a vehicle following it after a nightclub fight.
The ambulance was transporting a stabbing victim while friends and family followed in a car behind it.
A Superior Court Judge sentenced Jackson to a 50-year term for each count of attempted murder as well as an additional eight years for a count of battery with a deadly weapon and another two-year term for criminal recklessness while armed.
The Journal-Gazette reports that a 60-year sentence was agreed upon in exchange for dismissing other unrelated charges.
In court, Jackson murmured an apology to the victims of the shooting including a medic who was wounded by shrapnel and broken glass.
A woman in the car was also hit by 10 bullets, according to court documents.
