HARTFORD, Conn. — In a statement released Tuesday, AMR said Trump protesters did not prevent EMS providers from transporting a critical patient over the weekend.
State police allege that protesters prevented an ambulance from transporting a patient to the hospital, and caused EMS providers to perform an emergency procedure.
However, AMR said no such procedure took place inside the ambulance.
“Nothing happened. Really, nothing happened,” Jim McManus, AMR spokesman, told the New Haven Independent. “With police assistance, we were able to route our ambulances away from difficult intersections and did not experience any AMR ambulances being blocked as a result. We are unsure if other ambulance companies had difficulty with the protest.”
When told of AMR’s response, the state police legal affairs unit remained firm on their stance.
“Maybe they [AMR] don’t want to be involved. I don’t know,” Christine Plourde, with the state police, said.
