CHIBA, Japan — An armed robber broke his leg in a struggle while holding up a shop clerk, and later came back and called for an ambulance from the shop’s payphone.
He will be arrested once he is released from the hospital, RTE News reports.
The thief, who was in his 60’s, threatened a 35-year-old shop employee with a knife. The employee was able to disarm the man and saw him fall to the ground with a broken leg.
About an hour after hobbling out the shop the thief returned and used the store’s payphone to call for medical aid.
