JUNCTION CITY, Ore. — A Junction City man alleges in a newly filed lawsuit that a pair of firefighter-paramedics with the Eugene Springfield Fire Department are partly to blame for injuries he sustained when a sport utility vehicle crashed into the ambulance that was taking him to a hospital for medical treatment nearly two years ago.
Named as defendants in Robert Cramblit’s lawsuit are the two firefighters, the city of Eugene, the fire department and the estate of the SUV’s driver — who died in the July 31, 2013, collision on Clear Lake Road northwest of Eugene.
Cramblit is seeking $305,000 in his suit, which was filed March 13 in Lane County Circuit Court. The amount represents $105,000 in past and future medical bills and $200,000 for noneconomic damages, including pain and suffering.
