Ga. teen charged after assaulting EMTs, crashing ambulance

Washington County EMTs were transporting the teenager, who was having a mental health issue

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. — A 14-year-old patient was taken into custody after crashing an ambulance, WMAZ reported.

Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran said that EMS providers were transporting the teenager who was having a mental health episode when the patient assaulted the EMTs in the ambulance.

They pulled over and went to a nearby house to get help. That’s when the teen got into the driver’s seat and crashed the rig a short distance away.

The EMTs were treated for minor injuries.

The teen faces charges of assault and motor vehicle theft.
