LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — An EMS provider faces charges after being accused of causing a four-vehicle crash that killed two people in October.

Reading Eagle reported that Jeffrey Gable, 21, was driving an ambulance at a high speed on the way to a nursing home Oct. 7 when he collided into opposing traffic with another vehicle. Gable’s partner, Jason Oswald, and patient Doris Waltz were both killed.

A witness said Gable veered into traffic and did not brake, causing multiple vehicles to swerve out of the way.

Another witness said Gable swerved back and forth between lanes until he struck a vehicle head-on.

State police charged Gable after an investigation. He faces two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of aggravated assault by vehicle, two counts of reckless endangerment and four summary violations.
