6 injured in head-on crash between NC ambulance, pickup truck

Officials said a pickup truck going the wrong way collided with a Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services Agency ambulance

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Six people were injured, including two EMS providers, in a head-on crash between a North Carolina ambulance and a pickup truck Monday morning.

Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services Agency (Medic) officials said a pickup truck going the wrong way collided with the ambulance on an interstate highway near Charlotte at around 2:30 a.m., according to WCNC.

Two EMS providers inside the ambulance sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. The ambulance was not carrying a patient when the crash occurred.

Four people who were in the pickup truck were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
