CLEVELAND, Ohio — Four people were injured Wednesday after a vehicle ran a red light, colliding with another car and then crashing into an EMS ambulance, police say.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 19-year-old male and with two passengers was going north on East 55th Street when it went through a red light at Carnegie Avenue, according to police. The Jeep collided with a Nissan Rogue in the intersection.

The Jeep continued and hit the ambulance, which was stopped at the red light, police say.

The driver of the Jeep had injuries to his face and was taken to University Hospitals. A 19-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment of a broken finger, while a 20-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital because of leg pain.

The 55-year-old woman driving the Rogue injured her collar bone and also was taken to University Hospital.

The two EMS workers in the ambulance, a 48-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, were not injured.
