NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. — New Castle County EMS expanded its use of pre-hospital ultrasound in the clinical setting.

Previously, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) devices were carried only on field supervisor vehicles. With additional funding, POCUS devices are now deployed on all paramedic vehicles in New Castle County.

With this additional training, paramedics can now use ultrasound to assess blood flow in other areas of the body in addition to cardiac wall movement.
