LENNOX, SD — Having the volunteers to respond to medical emergencies is important in every community, but especially in rural areas.
Many rural ambulance and fire services are staffed almost completely with volunteers. But, some are seeing a shortage, and some EMT training classes are seeing a decline as well.
With an average age of 83 coming to the Senior Center in Lennox, medical emergencies do come up.
