Medic shocked to find own stolen trailer at crash scene

He didn’t even realize it was missing until he arrived and saw it hitched to the back of a pickup truck that rolled over

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A paramedic responding to an accident scene was shocked to discover one of the vehicles involved was his own stolen trailer.

The crash occurred around 7 a.m. Friday when a pickup truck driver failed to slow at a red light, and rolled over. The vehicle was found lying sideways on top of another vehicle, Salt Lake City Police Sgt. Jeff Webb told KSTU-TV.

Sgt. Jeff Webb, Salt Lake City Department, said a pickup truck driver caused the crash when he failed to slow his vehicle for a red light.

The pickup truck rolled and was seen lying sideways on top of another vehicle.

“Interestingly enough, one of the responding paramedics gets here and says ‘Hey, that’s my trailer that was stolen that’s hitched to the back of the truck he was driving,’” Webb said.

Paramedic Alex House didn’t realize the trailer had been stolen from where he stored it until he saw it on the scene.

The truck was later found to be stolen as well, and the driver was also in possession of at least one firearm, drugs and stolen credit cards, Webb said.
