1 dead, 12 injured in van, SUV crash

13 people were brought to the hospital, including 6 children, and at least one of them had to be extricated from a vehicle

BALTIMORE — A 49-year-old man who was killed in a crash that injured 11 other people has been identified.

Charles J. Coleman was killed in the crash Friday night in Baltimore, police said. He says one person had to be extracted from a vehicle after firefighters arrived. The conditions of the 13 patients were not released.

“There was one individual that was still inside of a vehicle and needed to be rescued. The firefighters on scene were able to extract that individual from the vehicle,” Baltimore City Fire Department spokesman Samuel Johnson said. “There was a total of 13 patients in this auto accident -- six of them were children, the other seven were adults. They’ve all been transported to area hospitals.”
