Paramedic missed two 24-hour shifts as a result of a broken rib

MUNCIE, Ind. — A Delaware County paramedic is recovering from a broken rib he suffered while helping an angry, drunk teenager, according to police reports.

Kevin Robinson, a lieutenant with the Delaware County EMS, missed two 24-hour shifts as a result of his injury and is expected to return to work Sunday, according to EMS director Tim Hutson.

“Occasionally, those types of things happen,” Hutson said. “We end up with patients who aren’t thinking clearly, and we end up in a wrestling match with them.”
