EDMONTON, Canada — A driver who allegedly caused a crash is being credited with saving the lives of four children.
Canadian police say Darrell Krushelnicki, 46, drove his Hummer into the path of another car that was driving straight for the group of children crossing walking through a busy crosswalk, according to the Huffington Post.
The collision occurred last Friday when a driver who was talking on his cellphone sped past other stopped drivers that were letting children cross the street.
Krushelnicki reportedly saw the speeding car as he was pulling out of a nearby mall’s parking lot and drove in front of it.
John Troy Heitzman, 23, has been charged with dangerous driving.
