SANFORD, Fla. — An EMT went along for a ride Tuesday afternoon when an ambulance parked outside Sanford hospital was stolen, with him still inside.
After a short pursuit, the EMT was able to jump out unharmed.
“I thought I had seen it all,” Sanford fire investigator Mark James told WESH. “Our rescue was transporting a patient to the hospital and once the patient was taken out of the vehicle, one was sitting inside still cleaning it when someone just jumped in and took off with it. He was in the back yelling for him to stop the truck and the man slowed down and he jumped out.”
The suspect James Sessions,43, has been taken into custody.
He is scheduled to appear before a judge Wednesday.
