FDNY EMT to serve 6 months for fatal crash

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — A former emergency medical technician with the New York Fire Department (FDNY) has been sentenced to six months in jail and four and one half years of probation after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Scott DeSimone, 36, of Fort Washington Ave., Hawthorne, had been charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, two counts of first degree falsifying business records and one count of second degree insurance fraud.
