NEW YORK — A Brooklyn man who called 911 for his dying mother was arrested after he assaulted one of the responding EMTs, officials said yesterday.
Dexter Carter, 22, called for help at 12:21 p.m. Friday, saying his mother, Diane Carter, was sick, the FDNY said. He called back eight minutes to say his 54-year-old mother was vomiting blood.
Six minutes later, emergency workers arrived at their home in the Glenmore Plaza houses in Brownsville, but Dexter slugged one of the EMTs in the face, cops said. Diane was in cardiac arrest when they arrived and died at the scene.
Dexter, who has 10 prior arrests for weapons and drugs, was charged with assault and obstructing government administration.
