CHANDLER, Ariz. — The Arizona Department of Transportation says two tanker trucks collided, exploded and caught fire in Phoenix, sending huge clouds of black smoke over a wide area of the southeast metro area.

A Phoenix Fire Department spokesman says at least one person has been burned.

Interstate 10 east and west at Chandler Boulevard is closed, as is Loop 202, the westbound San Tan Freeway.

Chandler police have been told to start evacuating hotels and businesses on the Chandler side of I-10 within a one-mile radius of the crash site.
