The first issue of the Irish Journal of Paramedicine (JIP), a peer-reviewed, open access international publication, will be published in June 2016.
The journal is dedicated to advancing and promoting the science of prehospital care, research, education, policy, management and operation delivery, its website states.
Paramedic and researcher Alan Batt announced the launch on LinkedIn, saying that an editorial board of paramedics, physicians, educators and academics is currently being assembled.
The journal will publish research covering all areas of prehospital care, including studies with small sample sizes and negative outcomes. Batt said the intent of the journal is to publish studies that often remain unpublished because of these reasons.
