West Valley City, Utah — A 35-year-old West Valley City woman was in serious condition Monday after a former girlfriend of her husband stabbed her with a kebab skewer.
The stabbing occurred Monday morning near 3400 South and Maple Way (2620 West) when the two women apparently got into an argument at the victim’s home, said West Valley City police Capt. Tom McLachlan.
The suspect then stabbed the victim with the skewer in the abdomen, he said.
The victim didn’t have a phone and was unable to call for help. She instead walked to the West Valley City Police Department a few blocks way to report the crime, McLachlan said. An ambulance took her to a hospital in serious condition. She is expected to survive her injuries.
Police have arrested the suspect, McLachlan said.
