SPOKANE, Mo. — Officials confirmed that the stab wounds suffered by a paramedic at an ambulance station were self-inflicted .
A CoxHealth medic initially reported an “attack of an unknown” subject at the Spokane Ambulance District on Highway 160. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and provided a detailed statement about what happened for a police investigation into the incident.
“His statement is something kin to that he had cut himself and it was deeper than intended, so he fabricated a story,” Christian County Sheriff Joey Kyle told CCHeadliner.com.
Kyle said the paramedic had one serious cut that required stitches, and several more superficial cuts.
Officials do expect to file charges of a false report.
