ARLINGTON, Texas — A special needs man died Thursday afternoon after being left in a hot SUV belonging to his group home.
MyFoxDFW reported that the man, believed to be in his late 20s, and two others were driven by a group home employee to a day camp Thursday morning. The employee, who told police she was unaware the man was still inside, got out of the SUV and left it for most of the day, according to the report.
At 3 p.m., another employee got into the SUV and noticed the special needs man in the back, according to the report. The employee checked on the man, who was unresponsive, and then called police, according to the report. The man was pronounced dead on the scene and investigators have not released the victim’s identity.
