PARMA, Ohio — Picture captures the dramatic rescue of a teen boy who was sucked into a storm drain Tuesday afternoon.

Two unidentified boys, believed to be about 13-years-old, were riding their bikes along a flooded area when one of them fell into a creek and got pulled into the drain, according to FOX8.

The other boy alerted a nearby city worker, who called for help, resulting in more than a dozen rescue workers arriving at the scene and lifting manhole covers to reach the boy.

Rescuers did not initially hear back and thought he may have died, but they were relieved to later hear his cries for help as they followed the pipe’s path above ground to another manhole about 1,500 feet away.

After a half-hour rescue effort, the boy was freed and reunited with his father.

He was transported to the hospital with minor cuts and bruises.
