CLAIRTON, Pa. — A Clairton woman, who delivered her own baby roadside, was released from the hospital Thursday.
After returning home, mother Heather Payo talked to Channel 11 about her baby girl, Jessica Rose. Payo’s mother was driving her from their home to Magee Women’s Hospital on Tuesday when it became apparent that the baby wasn’t waiting. “We were almost there, and she (Heather) said, ‘The baby is coming now,’” said Robin Payo, the baby’s grandmother.
“I was still dressed. I ripped off my pants,” said Heather. After stopping for the delivery, Robin drove Heather to the hospital with the umbilical cord still attached.
