MARGATE, Fla. — Four vehicles, including a Margate/Coconut Creek Fire Rescue truck, crashed in Margate on Friday afternoon.

A car struck another car, then another, sending the third vehicle into the rescue truck, Margate police Sgt. Efrain Suarez said.

The rescue truck was responding to a call when it was hit about 4:50 p.m. at Park Drive and North State Road 7, Suarez said. No patients were in the unit at the time of the crash.

A firefighter/paramedic and one other person were taken to Northwest Medical Center with minor injuries, Suarez said. The southbound lanes of North State Road 7 were closed as crews cleared the scene and police investigated.
