ARGILLITE, Ky. — A mother and her 5-year-old daughter were killed and a man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday night on the Northeastern Kentucky Industrial Parkway.
The Greenup County Sheriff’s Department identified the two who were killed as Stephanie Wells, 31, of Ashland, and her daughter, Kylie Stevens.
The injured man was identified as Corey Johnson, 32, of Grayson.
The accident occurred about 10:25 p.m. near the Ky. 207 interchange of the industrial parkway, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department. Johnson was in one vehicle; Wells and her daughter in the other.
Wells was taken to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Kylie was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital, where she later died of her injuries, the sheriff’s department said.
Johnson also was flown to Cabell Huntington, where the sheriff’s depatment said he was listed in serious condition.
The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
Wells and Stephens were the wife and daughter of Mike Stevens, a Greenup County Emergency Medical Services paramedic. Preston Family Funeral Home is handling their funeral arrangements.
