Indy fire dept. EMS truck crashes en route to call

The truck was on its way to an apartment fire when a vehicle turned in front of them

INDIANAPOLIS — A man suffered minor injuries after a truck belonging to the Indianapolis Fire Department crashed into his car on the way to another call.

The crash happened at the intersection of 56th Street and Emerson Way near the Burger King.

The fire department says the truck was on its way to an apartment fire when the vehicle turned in front of them. The fire truck crashed into the side of the car.

The driver of the car was transported to the hospital to be checked out but is expected to be OK. No fire personnel were injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
