BURLINGTON, Mass. — A fire official says six people were hurt when a deck collapsed at a Burlington home where people had gathered after a funeral.
Burlington Fire Captain Scott Carpenter said the deck suddenly detached from a house and crashed about eight feet to the ground at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Carpenter said two people were taken to Winchester Hospital and two were taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington with scrapes, cuts and possible broken bones.
Two others declined to be taken to a hospital.
Carpenter said the town building inspector was investigating the accident at the house on Francis Wyman Road.
