LANCASTER, Pa. — Six people were injured in a two-car crash on Route 30 in Salisbury Township on Sunday, state police said.
Alfonzo Jones, 78, of Coatesville, and Joshua Semon, 33, of York, were listed in serious condition at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday night, a nursing supervisor said.
Scott Weaver, 45, of Coatesville, was listed in fair condition.
Wendy Weaver, 42, of Coatesville, and two young children all were treated and released.
According to police, Semon was traveling west on Route 30 around 4:50 p.m. in a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt with the two children in his car as passengers.
Police said Semon’s car crossed over the road’s centerline near Hoover Road and collided head-on with a 2007 BMW 750 traveling east.
Scott Weaver was driving the BMW, with Wendy Weaver and Jones as his passengers.
Three people were trapped in the vehicles after the crash and had to be freed by firefighters, according to Kinzer Fire Company Chief Doug Brubaker.
All six were taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Jones was flown by Skycare helicopter, while the others were transported by ambulance.
Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) between Hoover Road and Route 772 was closed for about two hours after the accident.
State police said Semon would be cited for leaving his lane of travel.
