ANN ARBOR, Mich. — An EMT and former firefighter died Tuesday in a head-on vehicle crash.

MLive reported that Jeremy Pinkley, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle crash, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the other vehicle was flown to a hospital in critical condition.

Cambridge Township Fire Department Assistant Chief Jeff Armstrong said Pinkley was a firefighter from 2009 to 2012 before becoming an EMT.

Armstrong said Pinkley was working on becoming a paramedic when he died.

“We enjoyed having him around. He was always a lot of fun and took his work very seriously,” Armstrong said. “He was a good firefighter and a good EMT. He was confident in his job. He’ll be missed immensely.”
