BOKCHITO, Okla. — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says six children have been injured, two critically, when a semi truck hit a school bus near the small town of Bokchito (BOHK'-cheat-uh) in the southern part of the state.
Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown says the truck failed to stop behind the bus as it slowed to drop off Rock Creek Public Schools students on Tuesday.
He says the two critically injured children had been thrown out of the back when the bus spun and overturned after it was struck.
Brown says they were airlifted to a Dallas hospital and the four other children were taken to local hospitals with less serious injuries.
He did not know whether the drivers were injured.
