BUFFALO, N.Y. — The driver of a 1989 Cadillac was hospitalized and charged with driving while intoxicated, after his vehicle struck a Rural/Metro Medical Services vehicle on Bailey Avenue early this morning, authorities said.

Terry Green, 42, of Buffalo, was pinned in his car and had to be extricated by the Buffalo Fire Department. He was listed in stable condition in a regular room in Erie County Medical Center late this morning, following the crash that occurred at about 2:15 a.m. at Bailey Avenue and Hennepin Street.

Buffalo police, who charged Green with DWI, said a male passenger in his car also was being treated in Erie County Medical Center.

The driver of the Rural/Metro vehicle, Jamie Kibbe, 28, of Lockport, was treated and released from ECMC. Rural/Metro officials said the paramedic was on duty, driving an SUV that is used by paramedics but the vehicle was not responding to a specific call.

Buffalo police said Green’s vehicle was northbound on Bailey when it struck the Rural/Metro vehicle.
