CLEVELAND — James Taylor has helped save thousands of lives during his 34 years as a Cleveland paramedic.
Taylor, 62, is now fighting to save his life and battling pancreatic cancer. Taylor is one of the last of four paramedics who were cadets when the city’s Emergency Medical Services began in October 1975.
Scores of firefighters, EMS workers, police, doctors and nurses waited in the rain Friday afternoon at Huron Hospital in East Cleveland to partake in a benefit lunch for Taylor. Many didn’t come for the food but wanted the chance to share a handshake, hug and smile with Taylor. Others snapped pictures with “JT.”
