Agreement to Benefit Helicopter and Fixed-Wing Operators Worldwide, Giving Customers Enhanced Mapping, More Choice in Dispatch Software
Takoma Park, MD & Lowell, MA--(Business Wire)--Thousands of helicopter and fixed-wing operators worldwide stand to benefit from a recently signed agreement between EMS Aviation, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc., and OuterLink Corporation. The agreement calls for the companies to share aircraft tracking data, which will allow customers to take advantage of the significant improvements in mapping technologies without being dependent on a particular network or geographic operation. A wider choice in dispatch software will enhance customers’ flexibility in selecting a tracking system based on specific mission requirements.
“This agreement to share data is an industry first and helps our customers better meet their mission requirements. We look forward to working with the OuterLink team to enhance our aircraft customers’ operational capabilities through better tracking visibility,” said EMS Aviation VP of Sales Wiley Loughran.
“Both our companies are committed to providing coordinated customer service for dispatch center efficiency and flight crew support,” said Jeff Warner, vice president of sales and marketing for OuterLink. “The end result is expanded operational capability and an opportunity for EMS Aviation customers to integrate their aircraft data in OuterLink’s proprietary feed to the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection Operation Center.”
The OuterLink web-based CONSOLE provides operators with a detailed global satellite image map and seamless integration of mapping and communication tools. Air, ground and marine assets are easily managed through the CONSOLE features. Integration of the DTN Meterolgix® weather overlay adds to the CONSOLE set of safety tools. OuterLink will be displaying the CONSOLE 2.0e mapping software at Exhibit 922 at Heli-Expo being held this week in Houston, Texas. EMS Aviation representatives will be available to answer questions at Heli-Expo Exhibit 4123.
Automated tracking is critical among offshore oil and emergency medical service operators because it provides constant awareness of the location and flight status of each aircraft in a fleet. Tracker-MAP™ is EMS Aviation’s premier web-based mapping system with an extensive set of display features, mapping overlays and administration tools.
