GRAFTON, Ohio — Authorities say two people were killed when two trains going opposite directions hit a car at a crossing in northeast Ohio.
It happened Thursday night in Eaton Township in Lorain County, west of Cleveland. The Ohio State Highway Patrol told media outlets that the car was first hit by a westbound train then an eastbound train.
A man and woman in the car were reported to be the victims. Their names haven’t been released. No further information was available Thursday night. It wasn’t clear if the crossing is equipped with gates.
In December, an empty tanker truck was hit by a train at the same crossing, which is near Grafton.
