CLEVELAND — A suspended Cleveland paramedic was sentenced to two years’ probation Monday for stealing a patient’s credit cards while transporting the woman in an ambulance.
Tiffany Forte, 42, was also sentenced to one year suspended jail time, 100 hours community service and drug and alcohol treatment. She was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $900.
Forte pleaded guilty last month to theft, forgery, misuse of credit cards and identity theft.
She faced up to 5½ years in prison.
Forte had worked seven years for Cleveland Emergency Medical Services and was suspended without pay shortly after her June arrest.
Police said Forte was seen on security cameras shopping in Target and Marshall’s using the 87-year-old patient’s credit cards while she was wearing her EMS uniform.
Detectives had Cleveland EMS officials identify Forte from the security tapes.
