ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A second memorial service has been scheduled for the four people onboard a medical transport helicopter that disappeared a week ago.

The first will be held at the LifeGuard hangar in Anchorage on Friday. The second will be held Sunday at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, where the crew was based.

The LifeGuard Alaska helicopter was on its way from Cordova to Anchorage on December 3rd when it went missing in blowing snow.

On board the helicopter were flight nurse John Stumpff, pilot Lance Brabham, paramedic Cameron Carter and patient Gaye McDowell. Only Stumpff’s body has been recovered, washed ashore over the weekend near Whittier.

The search was called off Monday.
