EFJohnson Subsidiary to Provide Project 25 Compliant Radios and Repeaters
IRVING, Tex – EFJ, Inc. (NASDAQ: EFJI) announced today that its EFJohnson subsidiary has received authorization to proceed with building 17 Joint Incident Site Communications Capability (“JISCC”) systems valued at $8.1 million for disaster relief communications. EFJohnson will provide its Project 25 communications equipment to be used by a certain federal agency.“We are pleased to provide for our Project 25 compliant communications solutions,” said Michael E. Jalbert, chairman and chief executive officer of EFJ, Inc. “This JISCC solution provides rapid-deploy communications infrastructure to support onsite command communications and provide interoperable emergency communications to local first responders,” Jalbert added. As announced on May 9, 2006, EFJ, Inc received an initial $4 million contract for Project 25 compliant radios and repeaters for disaster relief communications.
