LANDOVER, Md. — Prince George’s County officials said that even after a countywide mandate one fire department is refusing to staff an ambulance.
Officials said that all but one fire station in the county currently have ambulances. They said firefighters of the Kentland Fire Company Station 33 have refused the ambulance, saying they do not want it and it would make their job even tougher.
The firefighters said they already respond to thousands of calls each year, and, they said, taking on an ambulance might make the number of calls unmanageable.
