MOSCOW, Russia — A medic has been hospitalized in an intensive care unit after a driver severely beaten by a man whose wife refused to move a car that was blocking an ambulance.
EMS was transporting an emergency patient, and found its way blocked by another car, a spokesperson told The Moscow Times.
“When asked to clear the way, the woman driver refused crudely and cynically,” the Times reported.
Other employees joined the medic and tried to persuade her but “none of the appeals had any effect on the driver.”
She then complained to her husband, who arrived at the ambulance station with a friend, asked to speak to the paramedic and inflicted severed injuries upon him.
He suffered brain injuries, including a subarachnoid hemorrhage.
The attacker has been detained for questioning.
