VAN WERT, Ohio — Braun Ambulances put their “Built For Life” motto to the test by seeing how their ambulances would hold up in a rollover crash and a side-impact crash.

To test the side-impact results, Braun used a Ford F-150 weighing 4,600 pounds to hit the curbside of an ambulance. The truck, which was traveling 40 mph on impact, caused some minor body damage but the ambulance withstood the impact.

The slow-motion footage shows the F-150 crumbling as the force nearly bounces the ambulance out of the frame. The only damage the ambulance received was a slight deformation to the door and a dent in the side of the wall.

For the rollover test, an ambulance traveling 25 mph hit the concrete track and began to rollover. Even after completing a 360 degree rotation, the ambulance landed on its wheels. There was minor body damage as a result of the crash.
