WERNERSVILLE, Pa. — An intoxicated Wernersville man jumped from the back of a moving ambulance in Upper Macungie Township early Saturday, police said.
Michael Fair was acting belligerent toward medical personnel as he was being taken from Kutztown to Lehigh Valley Hospital — Cedar Crest in a Kutztown ambulance, according to a news release from Upper Macungie police.
He unstrapped his restraints and jumped from the back of the ambulance at about 2:24 a.m. as it traveled through the intersection of Route 100 and Schantz Road, police said. He ran off and township police later found him walking on Interstate 78 near the Route 100 exit. He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital without incident.
Police said Fair will be cited for disorderly conduct.
