SALT LAKE CITY — A new neonatal-pediatric ambulance, custom designed by Gold Cross Ambulance, will provide specialized care for infants being transported to Primary Children’s Medical Center.

The ambulance has enhanced space for neonatal incubators, as well as cardiopulmonary monitoring, ventilators, infusion pumps and other equipment. It also has a self-contained power supply to maintain the best environment and care.

The new ambulance will complement Intermountain Life Flight’s transport services, said Mike Moffitt, senior vice president of Gold Cross Ambulance, in a statement.

“Time is of the essence when transporting premature or medically fragile infants,” he said. The ambulance will help Gold Cross and Intermountain Life Flight “provide a high level of intensive care to premature infants,” he said.
