RUSSIAVILLE, Ind. — When Ron and Angie Brantley are out in public, they now find themselves looking for automatic external defibrillators.
Their son Drew’s life was saved by one of the devices, which staff members used until help arrived when he collapsed Feb. 17 at Western High School. Doctors at Methodist Hospital told the couple their son would not be alive without the AED.
They are now promoting plans by the American Red Cross of North Central Indiana to form a community task force, to survey where there are AEDs in the area and where more are needed.
