LA CENTER, Wash. — Newly-released 911 calls have shed some light the first aid administered on a teenager who died after he collapsed at a basketball practice.
Cody Sherrell, 14, suffered a heart attack at school in January. He was rushed to a Portland hospital, but died six days later. KATU News partner The Columbian obtained the recordings in which assistant basketball coach Greg Hall could be heard talking to 911 dispatcher moments after Sherrell fell to the floor.
“We got a ... we got a student-athlete who’s on the court moaning on his back,” Hall told the dispatcher.
