FRUITLAND, Md. — A Fruitland man who retired as a paramedic with the Salisbury Fire Department after more than three decades of service is behind bars following allegations that he sexually abused a child, according to authorities.
On Tuesday, an investigation conducted by staff members with the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center culminated with the arrest of 66-year-old Bruce Earl Fowler. Charging documents show that Fowler is accused of sexually abusing a young girl over a three-year period.
Following his arrest on Tuesday, Fowler was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, sex abuse of a minor and second-degree child abuse. He was ordered held without bond in the Wicomico County Detention Center.
